Forums - Nintendo - Hmm...could this be Dragon Quest Swords 2?

A couple of new Japanese trademarks surfaced recently without much fanfare. Amongst Square Enix's was this long-winded little gem:

商願2009-005209 光と闇の姫君と世界征服の塔 [Hikari to Yami no Himegishi to Sekai Seifuku no Tou // The daughter of Light and Darkness, and the Tower of the World Conquest]

Sounds reminiscent of The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, no? I can't think of any other SE franchise where this would be an even remotely appropriate subtitle, and after seeing how much DQS sold I don't see why SE wouldn't want to capitalize on another one between DQ9 and DQ10.

it's possible considering DQS is still the highest selling third party game on Wii. Besides, there is never enough of Dragon Quest!

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I could see it happening.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

I don't see why they wouldn't release one. Square-Enix loves their money, and their cash-in spin-offs as well.

Was the first one any good? I never got around to trying it.

What? I hope you mean Japan.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Yes. I meant in Japan. But I also think Taiko no Tatsujin Wii has a good shot get past it now.

It would seem that way.

The thing is , according to VG, the DQS game wasn't received to well here in the States, because it wasn't a real RPG........It was an on-rails RPG.

Seeing as how on-rails games are suddenly all the Wii rage, it may do better now.

Aren't they making Dragon Quest X.

Should put it on PS3 instead or 360.
