I wish people would stop talking about a ff7 remake. The game just wouldn't be new. I love the game. Heck, i'm playing it again right now. I just don't see the reason for which a remake should be created. Make new games dammit!!

There is no FF7 for the PS3... at least, not yet. Why the hell would Square want to release their best money making card on a console with no units out there?

Is every one forgetting why FF13 was delayed? Square is waiting until the PS3 sells more units so they can make more money. This is the first time I've ever heard of a game getting delayed because of lack of system units sold.

If a remake is coming out, and that's a big IF, Square will likely release it for all consoles to maximize cash flow.

There is no way they would ignore the Wii's massive user base, there is no way they'd ignore the 360's American/European Market, and there is no way they'd ignore the Japanese/other half of the European Market (PS3).

First thing you have to remember is that they are going to wait until mid-late life of this generation to release the game, if ever. All you have to do after that is take a quick look at the negatives and positives of each console to come up with the same analysis as I did.

- Xbox 360: Large American base, medium-large European base, Very low Japanese base.
- PS3: Medium American base, medium European base, medium-large Japanese base.
- Wii: Very high base in all Markets, but insufficient graphical power to show off such a game.

**"Bases" in relation to console's OWN distribution of market share, not in comparison to other consoles.

Do you get it now? To fill in ALL the holes and maximize their profit, they HAVE to release it on all consoles.

Wii exclusive = Everyone can get a hold of it, but it won't have those jaw dropping graphics everyone will be wanting (yes, for this game graphics DO matter. If FF7 is being remade I want it to look glorious, not with waggle controls)

Xbox 360 exclusive = N.Americans and many Europeans covered, but their home country of Japan will be FURIOUS seeing as almost none have a 360.

PS3 exclusive = Medium-low amount of each market covered, but over all not enough profit.

Wii+360 = Japan doesn't get a pretty version
Wii+PS3 = Not enough people get a pretty version
PS3+360 = Too much money being ignored by not including Wii.

Wii+360+PS3 = Everyone without a power console is covered, not to mention a HUGE base on it's own (Wii); American/European power console base is covered (Xbox 360), so everyone who wants the stunning visuals in those areas are covered; Japanese and the rest of the European power console base is covered (PS3) for those who want the stunning visuals as wells and aren't content with what the Wii has to offer.

That was nothing more then internet rumor. S-E never confirmed that and it was never going to be a 07 release anyway. The game was never ready, the game is still not ready. S-E can't even provide a playable version of the game at TGS like they promised. The game is struggling with the complications and difficulty of the PS3 hardware like many other PS3 games. It may be a blessing in disguise to increase the userbase but it was not the reason the game slipped into an 08 release but I think the game will be better off as I want this game to be the best it can be and let Sony's 1st party games increase the userbase which it will do.
