Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: We don't make games to help 3d parties

colour TV was introduced to the public in the 1960's.

Which reinforce my point that the Wii is several decades old.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 definitely aren't capable of outputting black and white graphics like the Wii.

So Nintendo has become a non profit company that would rather let third parties profit from Wii software sales than sell their own games ?
That's gotta be the lamest excuse I have heard for failing to release huge hits recently ( AC and Wii Music did well but weren't SMG, Wii Fit, MK or SSBB).

Unless it's a policy of holding back longer, with just a few big releases each year, with slightly more smaller releases. They are doing this with the DS.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Nintendo is actually spot on here. They went into their shells, to make some "long-term" development games on purpose - and gave 3rd-parties some time/room to flourish on the Wii (overall, it just hasn't happened - they have neglected the platform, putting their effort into the HD consoles instead).

Just wait for April...

You sound like some spoiled kid making an obtuse arguement.

Some of the best films and tv shows ever were in black and white.

Damn I can see it now 40 years from now some clown will argue that because something is not a hologram it can't be good entertainment.

Yup everything is amazing, nobody is happy.

That is the real travesty here. Its all been wasted and following the announcement of UC2 i don't even know if EA are genuine anymore. Does it not seem reasonable that doing Dead Space on rails is the same exact modus operandi as Capcom?

Infact it is this lazyness that will ultimately force my hand on a 360 this yr.

Well i guess the third parties won then

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I'll shut up now. People are taking my sarcasm seriously :)

People keep backing Nintendo into a corner this gen. If they release a wave of big games people say that they arn't giving third parties a chance, and if they decrease releasing games they get attacked for it. It's very relective of the attitude of third parties this gen when Nintendo hadn't released any notable games for several months (during the holiday season no less) and next to no third parties took advantage. I'm not saying that Nintendo did this to aid third parties but some should have still made the most of the situation.

@galaki - I still watch black and white regularly. I prefer black & white to colour.

@shams

Why do you say "just wait for April"?

some people are just never satisfied, and Nintendo's the one that gets the most absurd expectations

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!
