About 5 or 6 months ago the graphics card connecter on my motherboard died on my laptop so I got a new one. I had files on there I would have liked to have but nothing too major so I left it alone.
Well now there's a file on there I need but I have no idea to go about getting the file without giving Best Buy $100. What would I need to hook up the hard drive to either another laptop or PC so I can just take off the files I need?
Can I do that with a laptop hard drive though? Do they need some sort of special connector or do they just use the same thing as PC hard drive? I've worked on PC's a lot but I've never really fiddled with laptops.
I'm still not even 100% sure how to take the hard drive out (though I've never really looked). If it helps it's a Dell XPS, though I forget the model number. It's either from late 2005 or early 2006 and it was top of the line then.

The PS3 uses laptop HDD's, so I just suggested that. It seems that Sega has your solution though...
do not put the drive into your PS3, it would just get reformatted.
Figure out what connector it needs and plug it into your desktop using the cable which came with your motherboard (or not) or adapter shown a few posts above..
