Forums - Nintendo - History suggests Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles could prove surprising

Here's an odd fact for you. Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles may be a sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, but it's also the unoffical 6th game in the "survivor" series that began in 2000 on the ps1. Here's how the previous 5 games have broken down on gamerankings.com

Resident Evil: Survivor: 42.11% (ps1-2000)

Resident Evil Survivor 2: Code Veronica: 52.50% (ps2-2001)

Dino Stalker: 58.14% (ps2-2002)

Resident Evil: Dead Aim: 66.35% (ps2-2003)

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles: 75.67% (wii-2007)

I know that the numbers don't guaranty anything and a lot of wii owners won't be happy with anything short of RE:6, but the numbers do point to capcom taking a concept that began as heavily flawed and turning it into something respectable. Perhaps some wishful thinking could send Darkside Chronicles into 80%+ territory.

thats interesting, I wonder if it more than coincidence...

Yes, as a Wii fan I am very disappointing. Come on, how long do we have to live with this kind of things? Capcom launches RE5 on the others consoles and creates another on-rails shooter for the Wii? This is like a joke.
Even if some of you liked Umbrella Chronicles, you should expresss your disappointing: RE5 and this Darkside Chronicles do not have the same level of quality. Capcom have to read the users opinions in internet.

I'm not sure i agree.  I own all 3 next gen consoles and a PC that can play next gen games.

I will buy Dark Chronicles.

I will not buy RE5.

You know this because you have played both from top to bottom? Or do you have a crystal ball?

Just kiss the tip.

They don't. If they did, Okami would have been a hit.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I just don't like the treatment 3rd parties give to the Wii. It seems that we are happy with games of less quality.

They're going to introduce new scenarios into the game, that should be great!
AND, they're going to render RE2 in 3d! I can't wait.
I would have rather taken a traditional RE, but now that DC is here, I can't complain.

How does this prove that is what Capcom thinks? Just because that isn't something you all wanted is not proof the game is "of less quality".

Im disappointed more by the fact that the original REUC was going to play like RE4Wii, then was 'too difficult for Wii owners' (despite 1.6 million buying RE4) and was dumbed down into an on-rails shooter. Chances are ill still buy the game, along with REUC when its cheaper.
