Forums - Nintendo - Tales of Ten: What are some things you would like to see in the game?

I'd like for it to be really, really long.. long enough to tide us over until the next Wii RPG (since they're so few and far between) also I think the voiced skits really add a lot and hope they'll be in this game too.

In a way, yes. I guess you could say that I'm calling Vesperia's story to be cookie-cutter. Let's be honest, it borrows a lot of classic cliches from anime. There's nothing wrong with that, though. In fact, I liked it

It borrowed a few anime cliches but when it came to the aer/blastia parts of the storyline I have never seen that in any anime. Even the whole justice part of the storyline was not from an anime. Most anime focus on super power people and stuff.

Eh...I'd say there's a lot of justice and corrupt governments and stuff in anime. And Blastia is just like the normal power source like Mana or something.

Heck, there's lots of corrupt government scenarios in western films and games as well.

To the people that point out cliche anime tendancies in RPGs...what about western RPGs? Plenty of cliches we've all experienced. I'm sure Dragon Age will be well reviewed and praised for it's story among other things. We've all seen it before too!

Undead hordes lead by evil dark wizard person bent on taking over the world.

Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2:  No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

Well, no one is this thread really give a shit about WRPG's, so whatever story they is just... whatever.

Like I said, there's nothing wrong with anime cliches. I'm sure I'm not the only here that has favorite cliches that never get old. I mean, I love Alexei so much because he's basicly another Char clone, and I love all Char clones to death.

I agree. It all depends on how the game uses these elements and Tales of Vesperia does a great job when it came to the whole corrupt goverment theme.

Think it has a chance of beating ToV for you?

Lol, Soriku, I just bought the last copy of Tales of Vesperia at Toys R Us this afternoon I do think ToT looks very good. I kept this thread bookmarked to later view those sound and video clips. That Yuri VS Kratos video...omg epic...

Beating ToV will be tough, but I think it can do it if everything goes right.

The main character has me interested. I'm sure the story will be better than vesperia's, but the content, cast and gameplay will decide if it's better or not.

Beating ToV's deep and complex storyline and art style will be tough. The characters in ToT has a good chance of beating ToV's characters because the characters in tales games keep getting better and better with each game in the series though it will be very hard to beat out a main character like Yuri. And the gameplay looks like it already beat ToV's gameplay. Also the content will most likely be at the same level as ToV. So overall there is a very good chance that it will beat ToV.
