I'm gonna get one of them. For those that have played both which is better. Do they both use the trigger for shooting instead of the A button? I need a game that uses the gun I have.

Get House of the Dead: Overkill. RE: UC is great, however, I had so much more fun playing HotD: Overkill. Unless you're a die hard RE fan buy Overkill.
Overkill is more of a traditional light-gun shooter, whereas UC is much slower (and precision-based) than other such games.
UC is about twice as long as Overkill, if you don't count Director's Cut as a separate mode.
Both of them use the B button for shooting, although UC lets you switch it to the A button if you wish.
UC will use the nunchuk, whereas you can get through Overkill without it.
UC offers far more fanservice.
Overkill is much more of a pick-up-and-play game. It's also far more violent, and has a ton of cursing. The end parts can be...disturbing.
Overkill has a calibration setting (i.e. you shoot where you point at the screen), and can allow you to lose the cross-hairs for a more arcade-based feel. UC lacks both of those features, so where you aim is based on where you're pointing relative to the sensor bar, not the T.V.
UC has Qucik Time Events, and BOTH players must succeed to avoid getting hurt/killed by them. Overkill lacks those.
Overall, I feel that Overkill was the much stronger game, but UC is awesome if you're a big Resident Evil fan.
I think UC is a better game. There's much more variety, and if you are a RE fan, you will love the fan service. Overkill is great, but really short and really easy.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.
I played both, own Overkill and i recommend this game, its shorter but more arcade like , very fun to play with friends, packed with humour, so definatley worth buying. SEGA really supports the wii so get their game.
Overkill has a very distinct flavor to it. Actually it is quite unique game in that respect and if you have any interest in the the classic grindhouse cinema you'll appreciate it much more.
RE:UC is good too but Overkill is definitely more fun..
I would recommend Overkill since you may never see a game like this (unless there's a sequel).
get overkill, if you like loads of cursing and humor in your game, get UC if you want a more serious game, personally i enjoyed overkill more than UC
Overkill by a long shot, unless you are a serious RE fan. OverKill is quicker, but also faster paced. UC was great once through, but I have almost never gone back Overkill is one I keep coming back to.
