Forums - Nintendo - New Wii due by 2011

I've said this before (maybe i should just stick it in my sig), but i think it will be 2011 for Microsoft and Nintendo, and 2012 for Sony. Sony will be able to afford it, because Microsoft's jump up won't be nearly as big as last time, so NextBox games won't totally blow PS3 games away, and Sony will want to hold on to optimize PS3 profits.

Nintendo is well-poised to move with Microsoft, and they won't want to hang on to Wii too long. If anything, they'll do what they did with the GBA/DS, maintain both platforms for a year or less, then drop the former.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

While I have little doubt that all 3 companies are working on new hardware, I really don't think Nintendo would be so cavalier about showing early information on any new console. They're usually the most secretive of all, so while I'd love for this to be true, I'm leaning towards it being fake.

The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.

would be cool.

Mind you, given that each new console has tended to come out 5-6 years after the previous one 2011-2012 would seem a likely launch window for a new Nintendo console.

All sony needs to do is put in a bigger badder cell(should be pretty easy if they don't have to research everything new etc etc.) Bigger Hard drive, and a better video card. Perhaps they will make more use of their motion. But really, all 3 of the systems are just going to be the same thing but more beefy. If microsoft and Sony put forth their own motion type things, or sony makes the eye toy part of the gameplay etc etc. Then They can steal lots of the market share, same thing with microsoft. I wouldn't trust nintendo to stay on top for long. What they did only keeps them ahead for one gen.

I expect the wii to have motion+ default, full HD. A hard drive, wifi. And thats all. Price 200-250 dollars.

Sony will have better graphics then now, a bigger cell, Bluray, perhaps better use of the eyetoy and their sixaxis controls.

Microsoft will be making use of that tech they bought thats like the eyetoy, better graphics then the WiiHD and the 360 and PS3, A beefier maybe quad core processor, and a bigger hard drive. They will raise the price for their xbox live to 70 dollars a year.

I'm 79% positive that it won't have "Wii" in its name.

Unless there is another Earthbound title , IM NOT BUYING !!

Nobody's going to pay $70.00 a year for Live.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

It would be the logical step.

With both the nunchuck and Wiimote having built in motion+ (of course improved even more by then).

A successor for the Wii won't be out as long as 3rd parties treat the Wii like they are now.
It would make no sense for Nintendo to get their next console out first if they don't have at least some support in every genre from 3rd parties at launch. And we're far from having reached that point.
