@J man

You would probably like FFXI then. Not sure if you would care for the whole pay-per-month thing though.

Ah, I know right? Can't help it, I used to watch animes so much back when they were actually good that playing a game where you basically control the characters throughout the entire "series" of the anime was something of a dream for me. Guess I haven't grown too far out of it, but I rather dislike animes now. Not anime styled games, but animes on TV and movies, noticed how horribly generic, overly dramatic and repetitive most of them are. Most.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Three times now I have seen Tales of the Abyss mentioned.

I was just talking about that game earlier. I have never been big on the Tales series but I was actually enjoying that one particular game a lot until I got side tracked.

All right. This is kind of hard to parse..... so assume that these are in NO PARTICULAR ORDER.

1. EarthBound (SNES)

2. Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64)

3. Final Fantasy XII (PS2)

4. Final Fantasy VI (SNES)

5. Final Fantasy IV (DS)

6. Harvest Moon 64 (N64)

7. Dragon Warrior/Quest (NES)

8. Chrono Trigger (DS)

9. Mother 3 (GBA) (why is this so low even on a list with NO PARTICULAR ORDER?)

10. Fire Emblem (GBA)

There we go.

I used to love anime myself, sometimes here and there I will find some time to watch a few.

My taste however would be considered horrible seeing as how I grew up a HUGE Dragonball Z fanatic.

@Khuutra

Very fine list there, I see it includes FFVI.

Not sure if you do, but do you happen to remember way back in the day, when Earthbound first released? In an old Gamepro that I happen to still have, the ads for this game would contain scratch and sniff stickers with some strange smells. They had barf, pizza, garbage, etc...  As a kid I thought it was the most awesome ads I have ever seen.

To this day I have still found no game ad that tops it.

Ironically I think those ads ended up killing the game, but yes, I agree they were pretty awesome for what they were.

Tales of The Abyss was an amazing experience. The story, characters and battle system were out of this world. I like Tales of Vesperia more because it took those elements that made Tales of the Abyss awesome and put them together in near perfection. I mean come on ToV has Yuri Lowell in it and the story had an even stronger impact on me then ToA's. Seeing how the Union of Guilds lived their live outside the government and how Yuri enforced his own justice was something i could really relate to. Not to mention the combat system was even more addictive then ever before. Plus the music in ToV was better and so was the voice acters. And i will never forget one of the best lines i have ever heard in an rpg.

Flynn: So you intend to dirty your hands?

Yuri: Intend to? ... I already have
