That stuff is not trolling. Basicly, you're saying having negative opinions about consoles is trolling. There's no point in posting on a message board if you're going to offended or banned because of that.

Trolling is like:

Let's say I make a thread about Vesperia being the best RPG ever. You come in and say something like, "No it isn't. FF7 is, and you're a dumb fuck for thinking that".

That's not trolling, that's flaming

Something interesting in the wiki article

"The most likely derivation of the word troll can be found in the phrase "trolling for newbies," popularized in the early 1990s in the Usenet group, alt.folklore.urban (AFU).[7][8] Commonly, what is meant is a relatively gentle inside joke by veteran users, presenting questions or topics that had been so overdone that only a new user would respond to them earnestly. For example, a veteran of the group might make a post on the common misconception that glass flows over time. Long-time readers would both recognize the poster's name and know that the topic had been done to death already, but new subscribers to the group would not realise, and would thus respond. These types of trolls served as a Shibboleth to identify group insiders. This definition of trolling, considerably narrower than the modern understanding of the term, was considered a positive contribution.[9][7] One of the most notorious AFU trollers, Snopes,[7] went on to create his eponymous urban folklore website."

I just wish we could use better words than trolling and flaming. To me those are pretty stupid words. I prefer bsing and being an ass.

Being politi...er internet correct will keep you out of the patterns of trolling. The secret is in not taking yourself seriously.

Trolling and flaming are like cousins - trolling, you're fishing for an argument. Shoot, I was accused of trolling on the PS3 - but I was actually just posting news about a girl who was sending nude pics via her PS3.

Flaming - from Wiki - is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of a discussion board, Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or even through e-mail. An Internet user typically generates a flame response to other posts or users posting on a site, and such a response is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree.

LOL! This!

This site seems to have a hard time understanding the line between opinion and trolling. I won't give specific examples because I don't want to upset the mods. If someone is giving an honest opinion though it's not trolling or flaming, it just discussion.

trolling flaming whatever just have fun putting ur opinion up if it offends someone tough luck ur not going to win everyone over. just be careful of using fowl language and try to respect other people in the mb it is harder than u think.

I'm new to this site so can someone explain to me what that is?

It's what people are doing any time they disagree with you.

Basically if you reply to just about any thread in a non-positive manner, someone is almost guaranteed to acuse you of trolling.

Imagine someone makes a "XYZ game is great" thread.  Well, on most forums you will get people who post and agree as well as people who post and disagree.  On vgChartz, disagreeing is considered trolling.  The thread topic is "XYZ game is great" so if you're not saying that or reasons why, it's off-topic/flamebaiting/trolling.

If you don't want to ever be accused of trolling then all you need to do is make positive and agreeable posts and nothing else.
