I believe this is the best mario next to Super Mario 64. I know most people are going to say I am wrong. But I just loved the gameplay. Also I played these games when I was like 4 so they will proibably bring fond memories. This was the first game I ever played.

IMO, the game has aged well. I love it but I honestly believe 3, 64, Galaxy, 1, and World were better.

Ohh I forgot about super mario world. I didn't have an SNES So I didn't play it that much. But what I did play I loved. The first Super Mario on Gameboy was one hell of a game also. 2 is still the best though. :]

 It's weird how most can agree most Mario games are amazing..  I love 2(US) alot.. imo, it has some of the music and the best bosses of any 2D Mario.

you were right with zelda 2, but not with mario 2. Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best, hands down.

i really did not like mario 2. at all. I remember being so disappointed when it came out, that i stopped playing it altogether after a few goes. Thank god for mario 3.

You know that Super Mario Bros. 2 isn't a real Mario game its a remake of Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic.

you know, Myomoto made that game too, and then put mario caracters on it, so it is a real mario game, since it has mario.

EDIT: another great game, but I disagree with you here. This is the worst mario game on a console. Not because it is a bad game, but beacuse all the other mario platformers were so great. (baby mario / yoshi games were not accounted for when making this statement)

I loved this one. First time we saw luigi in a game like this,. Peach was a playable character. The levels were just amazing. There was alot more gameplay then the other 2 super mario brothers on the NES.

I think I like the Japanese version better, but Im a saddist haha
