Simulacrum said: No,if you count handleds Jprg:s. If you count Wii,Ps3,Xbox 360, I dunno since this is what first Jprg I have played with Ps3, but Xbox 360;s Tales of Vesperia seems great so I don't know. |
The handhelds do have many good/great JRPG's, but there is no denying that so many of them are just remakes.
Yes that shouldn't exclude them, but for someone like me, I already played many of them years ago. Although I loved Brave Story, FFIV, Chrono Trigger. TWEWY was awesome as well, but in terms of new IP's on the DS for JRPG, this gen in general has been severely lacking for me. Unless there is something special that I am missing.
How about "best JRPG this gen on home consoles"?
Can I at least get that one?
Haven't played Vesperia yet either, but I have never been a fan of the Tales series, but I do want that game.

I have found best Rpg:s on PSP:Tales of Eternia easily is in my top 10 best games ever and Valkyria Profile was good also. And Final Fantasy Tactics was epic.
But no I say my opinion when I finish the game.

Own both bolded on PS1.
As for Tales of Eternia, I actually just picked up that game like a week and a half ago but have yet to play it. Still, another port.
I think it is a remake of Tales of Destiny 2 from PS1. Could be wrong.
Maybe that will be my handheld diamond in the rough.
I also agree with you, the best RPG's I have played on handhelds this gen have been on the PSP, with a few gems on the DS like TWEWY and oddly... Magical Starsign.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
