Forums - Gaming - 10 Greatest games this gen, the gamers have decided!

Sounds to me like Mr. Michael Moore is a die-hard PS3 fan pretending to be a 360 fan...hey but to each his own.

Unless you are willing to produce data from your research that others could verify, to reproduce your results this is nothing more than personal opinion. If you can provide the data you supposedly collected, I'd be happy to go through it as well and would gladly verify your list if the data proves it.

Is Michael Moore that guy that everyone hates who keeps making the annoying documentaries while munching on Big Macs?

Actually every one praises him...

His documentaries are as open minded and honnest as a super fanboy post though so i'd have to agree with the term annoying...

The gamers have spoken, and these are the 10 best games this generation:

10. Brain Age 2/Brain Training 2
9. Mario Kart DS
8. Mario Kart Wii
7. Wii Fit
6. Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
5. Brain Age/Brain Training
4. New Super Mario Bros.
3. Nintendogs
2. Wii Play
1. Wii Sports

I would have to agree that this is the true list.  It might not be mine, but this is the true list.

yes--he bends truths to make other peole look wrong and him right

the best one was when he did his "interview with Charleston Heston"

he would ask one bad question then tape his response and out rage then ask his real question and then switch the responses...then the scene where he is holding up teh photo of the little girl and it seems the Heston is walking away...yeah more pissed him off and he walked away then more edited in footage to make it look like he was walking away from the photo

i have no respect forhim or how he makes his point regardless of if he is right or wrong.

Lol I was gonna point this one out =)

Actually I saw the thing more as a "hi i'm a reporter for guns magasine" "oh welcome, I always like to speak with gun lovers" "so, now that i'm in your house, can you tell me if you like seeing dead kids because of your guns?"

I didn't know he switched responses by editing.... and I still thought him to be an ass for the way he prepared his interview while misleading Heston. Kind of like Borat.... but one pretends to be an ass, the other isn't pretending.

This list is so vanilla that I believe every word you say in your OP about doing research on this. I do find it funny that you couldn't find more people that preferred Halo 3, COD 4 and Gears 1 and 2 over Killzone 2 considering there is a significant gap in fanbase between the titles.

Great contribution, I analysed the gamers response to those games. Only 3 out of those 5 games had to live up to huge expectations being Killzone2, Halo 3 and Gears of war 2. When I analysed the gamers response on sites such as Amazon/Play.com many gamers were not satisfied with the single player of Halo 3 however praised the multiplayer aspect with Gears of war 2 many complained that there were not enough multiplayer options and some called it Gears of war 1.5. When I was analysing Killzone 2 the consumer/gamers was both happy with the single player while applauding the multiplayer ranking system. Therefore I felt Killzone 2 merited the second place slot. Thanks.

So then what about COD4? People have nothing but praise for both the SP and MP, plus it has a fanbase spanning two consoles so it detracts from the hatred.

i agree, however cod4 has no hype nor any expectations to live up to it

I cant see MGS4 being at the top of the list. I was very disappointed with everything except the graphics. The story was like watching a B-action flick starring Jean Claude Van Damme. The artwork was great, smooth animations, camouflage tech was sweet. If only they had a decent story to go with it, it could have been great.

Looks like paralysis by analysis.

I would love to see more on the methodology -- because I don't know how you define "Gamers."

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I really doubt this list is acurate.... but it is pretty close to my list of top 10... Just replace GeOW 1 and 2 with Little big planet and Oblivion and thats my list.

Also i would need to omit SMG and SSBB since i never played them...
