It reminds me of the first time I was watching someone play Lost Odyssey. The game started with it's really awesome 10 min. cinema scene (I may be exaggerating, hard to keep track of time). After watching this long scene like a movie, the first battle starts. Keep in mind that this is the first battle after a long cinema scene; It is the first time the player gets to interact with the game. The player I was watching got a typical RPG style attack, magic, defense, ect. menu. He pressed down a couple times, selected an option, and the game froze.

We laughed real hard about that. It was the worst first impression a game could give you.

I think it froze once on me in the campaign.But I just restarted my ps3 and everything was fine.

The second bug hasn't happened for me,The game runs pretty smooth actually.

never had a single freezing issue with the game and i have put 9 hours in campaign|(Still level 7) and 16 hours in MP(1780 points)

I would change the disk if i were you just to be safe.

Lol that R2 grenade thing threw me too.
The very first active combat thing I did was to blow myself up

I haven't had any game stopping bugs but I did notice something strange.
When I finished my first playthrough then redid some missions, the sound used to cut out every few seconds during a cutcene.
This stopped and became normal again when I started the campaign acain from the biginning.
I haven't patched the game yet though, so maybe my issue has been fixed.

do you have a 60gb ps3? if you do watch out since many 60gb ps3s are crashing theses days (freezing is a sign)

Yeah, I've blown myself up a few times.  The worst was when I threw a grenade at a wall near me when I meant to fire and hit an explosive barrel.  -_-

I haven't had any problems with it, though I simply assumed that you would be complaining about the "broken" controls that people are moaning about, and I have no idea what they are talking about

I am on my last mission Vissari Place I think is the name and I didn't have any bugs or freezes

the game froze on me once at the begging of a round in MP good thing it was in the begging not the end or all the points I scored would go to waste
