I view website things that cost vg$ not as a perk to having been here a long time but as a barrier that only serves to exclude new people.  I don't need perks to stay here because I like the community but offering fun things like website IM may be incentives that make someone new to the website go "Oh wow, that's pretty neat" and maybe try it out and have a bit of fun.

$1000 vg$ also takes a fairly long time to earn if you're doing it through posting so it's not like a new person is going to stumble in and go "Well if I just stick around and post a bit, I'll get to try it in no time" either.

I understand all the time and effort you've put into it (believe me I do), but I don't think charging vg$ and preventing new people who might enjoy it and use it to better get to know the community is helpful.

If it makes ya feel better, I think it's a cool idea and I'd definitely spend the $$ to use it if I had enough.

It's not like I have anything else to use it for anyway since I'm not into the prediction league, so why not spend it!

I know i'd love it. But until it gets free or ridiculously cheap i won't be able to try it. I don't post like Soriku and i don't know THAT much about old games to update the database.

Anyway, i voted that it's too expensive for me.

you don't need to know anything about any games. You just need to know where to look.

gamefaqs provides plenty of watermark free boxarts that are high quality. Just update games with boxarts and you make VG$2 per image. For summaries, just go to the developer website, or a system website, and copy from there. You just need to be resourceful. If you do happen to know about a game, then you can update with a personal summary, which is always cool.

no money, and being jewish I certainly do know how to save my money, but I'll try to earn some cash with the prediction league. hopefully one day I'll be able to "buy" it
