Forums - Gaming - So Can I expect to play any Square-Enix games in my PS3 this year?

With the flop of Star Ocean 4, is it safe to say that Square-Enix is going to stop supporting Microsoft exclusively and show some love for the PS3? what im trying to say is can I expect to play any Square-Enix games on my PS3 this year that arent in Japanese? Or will Square-Enix make their PS3

debut FFXIII? (To me The Last Remnant is Shovelware now on the PS3 anyway)

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Good question, they've been ignoring us for some time now so we will see, FF13/Versus is gareenteed to appear on PS3 and its highly possible that tri-Ace's SO4 will make it too, also the extra's version Last Remnant will come to, but we will see

Ugh im still a bit bitter with the treatment we've been getting. SO4's sales dont do the franchise justice! I'm pretty sure if it was released along side the PS3 its total first week sales would be close to 500k-1M easy

NA. 59k, and will only go lower from there. That's with SO3 selling more in NA than it did in Japan!

J-Boy the game only did a little more then 200k its first week world wide. For an established franchise like Star Ocean, thats bad Hell thats horrible! A new JRPG IP WKC outsold that in Japan ALONE! Not to mention the average review the game got from Famitsu compared to the stellar one that was SO4 got.

In conclusion look at the First week sales of SO3, SO2 and tell me SO4 isnt a flop.

Im a hardcore SO fan and im sad, it deserves way more than that

an S04 port would make me cry happy tears.

  1. If you live in Japan you might see FFXIII this year but that's an awful big maybe.  Personally I don't think it's going to happen.
  2. To you people saying SO4 bombed-- RPG's (especially JRPG's that don't have Final Fantasy in the title) generally don't sell well. 200k is respectable.  Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see the JRPG go the way of the point and click adventure.

Correct on both points. However, this gen non-FF JRPG's went a whole lot lower in their sales..
