Walk don't drive. It amazes me how people think they need to drive everywhere. If its less than a couple of miles walk or something. Driving, like trains, planes etc is for long distance.

Actually it's not a bad idea to only flush when someone does #2 or it starts to stink.
10 minute showers. or showering every other day.
Keep the thermostat at 68 or lower in the winter and 72 or higher in the summer.
Only turn on what you need, when you need it.
Use the Microwave when you can instead of the stove.
Rinse out your dishes as soon as you're done with them so it doesn't take as much water to clean them out which will waste more water in the long run.
Read books and study or exercise instead of using the computer and TV.
Use a bike when you can and try to plan all of your "MUST MAKE" trips to happen at the same time each week.

The number of cows and pigs alive to feed all the people who eat them releases more dangerous gas into the air then all the cars we drive.
So the school of thought is if you want to do your part for the environment, the first step is to stop eating meat. The second is to look at your energy usage.
Oddly, Al Gore is not a vegetarian, nor will he ever be.

I never said it was dangerous. Just explaining why people say we need to eat less meat. I think humans have little clue as to how we effect the balance of the world. One day we will, and when that day comes, we should take whatever direction is necessary not to screw things up.
That day is not here yet.
Cool.
Although our family is the "neighborhood conservatives," we do the most in helping the enviornment (We plant trees, we recycle the most, we're extrea cautious about lights, ect.)
Thats the school of thought. I love me some meat, I wont lie but I try to eat as little of it as possible.
