I want to ask if anyone knows if places are fined for breaking release dates of games? I have seen allot of games this gen release date broken.

For example I just picked up RE5 today when the release date is 3/13/09.

Nah. Only if the people who make the game don't get the money for it.

I guess it depends on if the publisher is willing to pursue it. Microsoft banned Kmart in Australia from selling Gears of War 2 for a couple of weeks or so because they'd broken the street date for Fable II.

The companies can do some stuff about it. I think toys are us were fined or charged or something for doing that with a computer game. Not positive though.

I've never heard of anyone getting fined for breaking release dates. Places always do it.

probably. i got my kz2 before it came out. i know the store manager so he let me have a copy as soon as the game shipped. but they didnt break the release date for anyone else though

i know at gamestop if they(a employee) breaks a release date then they will get fired(i know because i asked if i could have halo wars early and he said no :( )
