Our good friends at Sony have allowed us to reveal the design for the upcoming official Sony PSN Portable ID! Scheduled to hit very soon, we're all excited at Playfire, and cannot wait to try it out! The ID will be from eu.playstation.com and it'll update automatically based on the Portal."

Is PlayFire.com where all the unofficial IDs have been coming from? I know I recognize the name from somewhere.

And it kindv'e bothers me that this is coming from a third party. Why couldn't Sony just do it themselves?

These are the official portal ID cards from Sony. Sony just chose Playfire to as a place to reveal Sony's portal ID.

I know they're official. It just bothers me that Sony didn't do it themselves.

And it sounds as if they're only doing it because PlayFire laid the ground work, and if PlayFire hadn't come along, Sony wouldn't have bothered with it.

It bothers you that Sony didn't create the cards themselves? or that they didn't announce it themselves?

The way I read the announcement is, Sony just chose Playfire to reveal Sony's portal ID cards. Other than the announcement, I don't think playfire has anything else to do with these cards.

Oh. I assumed they had worked out a deal with PlayFire to make the official cards, since PlayFire had been behind the (rather elaborate, despite having to add trophies manually) unofficial cards.

IMO this is not a bad idea from Sony, seeing as most sigs I see always feature Playfire meaning most people in theory use playfire to update their trophy cards. Using Playfire, Sony can tell most folks that it's now easier doing it from Sony instead of a 3rd party.

they are nice does PSN america will get them too?.

and they going to be integrate with the new update in playstation.com?!

now we don't only have access to trophies and the friendlist (and what they are playing)

Americans will have to log on to the EU site until they come to the American one it seems.
