Forums - Gaming - Inverted Y axis

I want to know how many people use the Inverted Y axis(when you put the stick down your character aims up). Why?, beacuse when I play with my friends I'm the only one who plays this way, so I want to know if there's a lot of more people how use it or not. I got this type of aiming thanks to Perfect Dark(N64). And sometimes it gets annoying because some games don't have the option to the invert the Y axis. If you're a Wii owner post your experience with other platforms.

I always use inverted aim. Not sure why, it just feels better. Mybe it mimics the move your neck would make for looking. No idea, but I definitely like it inverted.

I don't really care either way, but it pisses me off when I just went from a game that is inverted to one that isn't and I look the wrong direction for a couple of minutes.

Invert Y axis? That's just silly. I only would use it on flying games.

Yes, in flying games...no everywhere else.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Yes, in flying games and plain ol' FPSes. Actually, now I use the Wii Remote, so... dual analog FTL :P

In flight simulator games maybe, in most else no, unless you are already used to it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Got used to it in flight sims, now I invert my mouse for all fps's.

I play with inverted Y now, but I didn't used to. After I was playing FFXII for a while I got so used to it that I started doing it in FPS games without realizing (games that were defaulted to inverted Y), and now I can’t play any game that involves camera movement (3rd or 1st) without inverted Y.
