If 2008 is any indication of 2009, then i would not count on getting many Nintendo games this year that are not called "wii" something.

i 100 percent agree with you

in 2008 i got mario kart, as far as games made by nintendo go

ive lowered my expectations to zero, so now i can just be pleasently surprised.

so again, bring on madworld!

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

We got Smash also.

Mario Kart wii is way too casual to really enjoy. The damn Chomp Chomp power up ruined the game. I was in last place one time and got that thing it boosted me into first place seconds before i crossed the finish line to win.

yeah i know they are. i view it as a rare chance for the wii to show that it can handle serious games like those. i know the wii is a good system, but i think mw and tc are an opportunity to shut the so called "hardcore gamers" up.

No. I'm a hardcore gamer, but I dislike brutal games. So I'm not too eager to see Madworld succeed.

I don't know why 3rd parties are overreacting like this... first they only made casual games for the Wii, now they're like "Ok ok ok we get it, here's your hardcore games: House of the dead, Dead Rising, Madworld, Onechanbara... look, guns! blood! corpses! It's alle there, see?"

How about some good action adventures? Platformers? I'm tired of this binary thinking: Casual = Petz, Hardcore = Gore.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

im actually looking forward to wii sports 2, it's one of my most anticipated titles this year.  All the "wii" games are good, save for wii play, which is an embarrassment in itself. im hoping for pikmin 3 to release too.

I think Benga Benga said it, not sure (and too lazy to go back and check), but basically at this point you're either on board with Wii or not. If anybody's waiting to commission more products, they won't have them out the door until mid 2010 at the earliest. These games are an indication of the paradigm shift towards Wii development, not the other way around. These, along with Virtua Tennis (previously PS360 exclusive), and the ground-up full-featured Grand Slam Tennis, Monster Hunter 3, Dead Space Extraction, etc. Regardless of how these games come out, the point is that the 3rd parties are trying, and are feeding the console the "serious" games it has hungered for

And taking full advantage of Nintendo's big release slump, i might add

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If these games tank then you can forget about hardcore games on the wii. Devlopers are watching these games and the Conduit very closly. These two games are very important to the wii's future. We all have to go buy Madworld so we can send a message to devs that we want more than just mini game collections and pet sims on the wii. Plus Madworld is a good game from what i hear from early reviews.

I hear ya...you are saying to yourself that this guy is crazy, but i can assure you these two games are holding the future of hardcore wii games on their backs. Much like Atlas held the world on his back in greek mythology. Heck if Madword and The Conduit sell well then maybe Winter will finally get a publisher.

As though 3rd parties aren't looking at successes like Call of Duty: World at War, Guitar Hero 3, Shaun White Snowboarding, or the other games that are doing really well on the Wii.

People need to stop pumping these two titles up like they're the Alamo of 3rd party support. Seriously, even if they tank, we are still going to get hardcore 3rd party titles. Publishers aren't just going to pull the plug because two games didn't do well, when there are others that are doing very well.
