i doubt those games will sell
Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

This sort of thing used to bother me, but now I don't mind. I'm not going to buy a game to encourage developers. I buy games because they interest me.
Madworld doesn't interest me at all, and if no games like it are ever made again, that's fine by me. I'll play it if it's GOTY or reviewed well, but it will take a lot of convincing.
Although I'm planning to get HotD:Overkill, MadWorld and The Conduit I'm certainly not doing it to promote more 'core' titles nor would I.
Frankly I'm quite happy with the number of games coming out on Wii that I want now. In fact, I'm overloaded this year. Too many!
I don't think M titles will ever be huge on Wii but I do think it'll be a profitable niche for Sega to exploit and CoD will continue to do well but Wii will not suddenly become the FPS or action system. A GTA would do well, especially if it's more focused on farting around kinda fun than completing missions.
Really developers need to make games that appeal to everyone, not just the 'core' for Wii. I'd love to see more mature titles - but by that I mean one's with real story, emotional impact and requiring thought than finger reflex. Like Broken Sword, Myst, FF or Zelda. Not just M titles with death, swearing and gore (although that's okay too sometimes). But for Wii it's better to make mature games that will appeal to men and women equally or work on multiple levels so kids can still have fun but adults 'get' a lot more out of it.

Do you have a link?

Someone from HVS did comment to that effect in reponse to an e-mail - in jest. It's in an old thread I'm too lazy to look up. Obviously their not really expecting those kind of sales.

I am enjoying the games on the Wii immensely, and when I get some money my Wii library is probably going to exceed my combined libraries of my past systems (at least if you count VC as Wii titles) and will buy those games that interest me, of which there are many. ----- Oh, and for those games... I am holding out on Madworld, not sure it's my type of game (I'm not against the violence bt I still don't really know what it involves, I mean is it like a hack and slash?) The Conduit I will be buying, even if it is good to control but otherwise mediocre I think I will enjoy it... from what I have seen of it, the only thing really lacking is some decent art direction.... but I can live without that as I already have pretty games in the forms of Okami, Zelda, Metroid. |
Right now my Wii library and PSP library are tied, if that tells you anything.

I'll have my copy of the conduit. I'm not too psyched about Madworld.

madworld is very important, as the coolness and gore level ive seen in the clips make it the bizzarro world wii game ive always wanted. I'm insanely curious to see how it plays, what its about, etc. First day purchase for me.
the conduit on the other hand i dont think is as important as cod 5. thats a real shooter. if you look thru my 360 gamer card you'll see i have tons of shooters to finish still, and i bet they all look cooler than the conduit. so thats one i might buy, if it turns out to be spectacular. if its simply a good shooter, i kind of have no need.
