Just wandering what people thought of the Primeminister's adress to Congress.
Was it really worth a standing ovation? etc.

I haven't seen it, but I read another forum earlier where people were laying into him saying he didn't deserve a standing ovation. One guy even said the only standing ovation he should get is when he gets his P45. I thought it was all very harsh. I plan to look at it now though.
I hate it when people say he got us into this mess. As though he had a choice, recession is an inevitable side effect after growth. I'm not a labour supporter but I can admit Brown isn't a very charismatic man, but he does know about the financial world, I would have faith he could lead the way in the recession.
yeah i would have to agree with you highwaystar101
generally the people who blame him for the recession dont know enough about politics to make a sound argument. they get their views form The tabloid press who are right-wing so mould their stories to make Brown a scapegoat.
I dont think he is charismatic either but certaintly better than Cameron would be in a reccession.
^ thanks for agreeing. It's the daily mail using him as a scapegoat again as they do with every politician.
pft, 34 minutes long, pretty beefy lol. I think I may wait for it to buffer and get something to eat, then watch it.
Oh yeah lol

A full 97 seconds of standing ovation and 34 minutes of his address in this video.
edit - He has like 7 or 8 standing ovations
Hmmm, he is getting a bit annoying by endlessly complimenting americans, he has been complimenting them for the past 11 minutes. Ok, Gordon they aren't that great, move on.
