Forums - Microsoft - Is the Xbox 360 library about to take over the ps2 library as the greatest?

The NES still has the greatest library out of all consoles, Mega Man 2 alone crushes everything. Wouldn't you agree, michael-moore?

Megaman 2 is an excellent game and a excelleng gaming character, but its not available on the ps2 my friend.

X360 has one of the best gameing libraries ever, some may argue that SNES and NES had the best one, PSX was ther first console to reach the astouding numbers and had a decent (if not the better one) library to support it. Then came the PS2, wich completed its older brother1s work, showing the world that gameing wasnt just a kids passtime, but a fair and proper(?!) entertainment passtime! The library was huge, and its still growing (10 years and still kicking....). Best library ever? A matter of opinion. To me it is. Its younger brother is having to work double time to get in pace with its oppositors, but it'll get there. PS3 will get some of the best games ever made.

In the end, all a mather of opinion. No one can declare nothing on this kind of subject without having a in between point to stablish a comparison.

PS- all the reasonable arguments aside...NO WAY X360 has the better library. It may reach a point it can even be compared to (not there yet, maybe soon...), but it will never be better IMO.

The PS2 has the best library in gaming history? I must live in an alternate dimension where that is far from the truth. Okay. I shall return to the shadow realm now.

The 360 Library is great and will continue to be great, but it won't surpass the PS2.

Its a matter of opinion, if the snes, ps1 or ps2 had the best libraries, for me is the ps2, and I doubt the 360 library will get that high status.

Personally, I find the N64 had a vastly superior library, with the DS behind that, and the SNES and 360 tied in third for entertainment value, at least. Then the Wii behind that.

Remember, this is libraries we're talking about.

I think everyone agreed that the ps2 library is far too superior, but which library my friend do you prefer?

Not a chance, PS2 had the biggest and most diverse gaming library in history. Want casual? The PS2 had it, Want Hard core? the PS2 had it. It had everything a gamer could want

Only the PC has real hardcore, at least as far as I've seen. Well, Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII is probably the most hardcore PS2 game I've seen and even it seems hardcore only because it is so menu-focused. To me, hardcore means depth or incredible difficulty. Yeah, not too many hardcore games on the PS2. I do like PS2 games, don't get me wrong on that. It would be best to say the PS2 had the largest and most diverse library on any console and that's a pretty good achievement.

Anyway, games-wise PC > PS2 > X360 to me. PC is only slightly better, though, and I'm also missing a couple of consoles here (wouldn't be the fist, that I can say).

Superior to what? The XBox 360? Yes. I'll agree with that.

IMHO, no not yet. Give it four more years and maybe. Still won't top PS1, even the Microsoft fanboy inside me knows that the PS1 was still Sonys best system in terms of quality titles.

It's just that simple.
