I think its a really good question to ask the xbox 360 has the best library this gen and arguably the games released this gen are soo much better than last gen, is it valid for me to ask if the Xbox 360 has the best library in gaming history. dont get me wrong the ps2 library is awesome but most of its games will feel outdated because our expectation have become so high. post your views and opinion.

That´s a subjective question.....in my opinion, the SNES has the best library relative to its time.

Never. PS2 has like 65 AAA titles (more than PC btw) while X360 has about 20 (counting live arcade games and dlc) and its entering its fourth year...

Oh god, no. Where did that question come from? Not gonna happen.

Nothing will come close to the PS2 when it comes to quality games. We will never see anything like the PS2 ever again.

None of the three current consoles has a library comparable in terms of both quantity and quality to the SNES, PS1, PS2, or even the Megadrive/ Genesis which wasn't even the lead console during that time.

The Xbox 360 and the PS3 also share way to much games to make them as special and unique as the consoles mentioned above and in the end it really depends which exclusives do you prefer.

That's really asking two questions Michael

1) Is the 360's library about to become as good as the PS2s

2) Is the PS2's library the greatest ever.

I happen to disagree with both of them, although i recognise that they are subjective so I'm not going to criticise your opinion.

But for my gaming tastes the Wii has a better library than the 360, and even better than the PS2.
I also prefer the SNES library to the 360 or PS2 libraries, and I still prefer the GC library to the 360 library.

But it's good to hear you're enjoying your gaming so much :)

It's far too soon to say anything has a better library than the PS2. It's 8 years old and has had those 8 years to build up a giant stockade of titles. Xbox 360 is into it's 3rd year and yes it has a impressive library. But it doesn't hold a candle to the PS2.

The 360 is doing a great job this game. I estimate by the end of this gen the 360 will have about 50-60 AAA titles. They most likely wont all be the quality of the great PS2 titles for the time, but they will be great never the less.

P.S.

Based on amounts of AAA titles, the SNES was the greatest system and the 360 will never be anywhere near that. If you feel that the 360 will be the greatest that is all subjective really.
