no, I believe he said that it is influencing sales (which it obviously is, even if it is only in small quantities) and he asked a question about what other games have done this. In no way did he imply that it is the sole reason it is selling.

 




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

That's quite the leap of logic.  Can you tell me where you got this information from the OP?  Because the OP looks like it is just saying that atleast one person has made the mistake and asks if anyone else did something similar, while you leap to the idea that he's saying no HW copies were bought legitimately.

I've been hearing about this happening. Not surprising considering Halo's shooter heritage. The television ad I saw last night, that features no gameplay footage, and only CG, is not going to help matters.

Yup, Halo definately has a shooter heritage. But Mario had a Platformer Heritage for the longest time, and was able to move away from just being a platformer to being Mario: Everything. I have no doubt Microsoft has similar plans for Halo. Halo Wars is the first, it's going to be a transition for some people, but eventually we'll see the glorious golden game.

This is a shot in the dark, but I'm guessing the mother bought the game for the little shit kid because she knew he played a game called Halo, gave it to the little shit kid, little shit kid threw a tantrum because he knew it wasn't a shooter and didn't want the gift, and the mother was returning it because her kid was in fact a little shit.

Call me pessimistic but I'm guessing that's what happened.
