The boss isn't usually drowning in a liquid which is ~1000°C at the time. His flesh is immune to burning/melting/boiling, but a couple of kilos of high explosives will blast him apart just fine, I guess.
If they'd used rockets to blast him into the lava, my disbelief wouldn't have to come in and kill the party.

I'm going to say Leon with a sex change, as that would make this ending more memorable.
And nice to know Wesker dies like a bitch. =P
Well, I think that RE always had a cheesy storyline, with a cheesy ending...
Of course, I didn't know it was going to have a Star Wars Episode III ending...
And I didn't know that they were just going to kill Wesker off just like that...
I don't know if the game is worth it, but if you are a fan of RE, why stop now?
