It's difficult to find an article about it since it's such an old incident. But this article gives incentive proof, maybe not definite proof but it's a strong possibilty.

Of course it just says exclusive for the playstation, so it's uncertain if that means exclusive for every playstation product.

I don't even think it will be a Ps3/360 exclusive.

I think it'd be more likely to end up on a handheld or the Wii.

Or even more likely a next generation system/handheld.

Reason being... given the choice all over again at the beggining of the Gen... I would bet my money on them putting 13 on the Wii.

As is fairly well known though... I really wouldn't care either way. 

Me i say release FF7 on PSN.

Though personally i think they're afraid it just won't hold up and they'll damage their brand when people realize that FF7 isn't as epic as they remembered and they can't use the "old hardware" excuse.

From a business point of view, I wonder why S-E hasn't done a FF7 remake already... Or they SHOULD be making one in a near future... It would be insane not to. Missed opportunity at making loads of $ as even if it's not my favorite FF, I would like it too if they remade it.

As for platform I think this article is right, in the way that they SHOULD make it multi platform. Though I don't really care where it goes I can get it on any console. Yes even if it were on Wii, would be an interesting twist mwahaha! >:3

Dont care if its exclusive or not just bring on the game.

One would think that an FFVII remake would be for some sort of PS system. I mean every game in the series (except the mobile ones) have been on a PS system, even Advent Children is now being released on Blu-Ray, and bundled with the PS3 in Japan.

I do really think that Sony owns the rights or Square feels they are in debt to Sony and need to release them on the PS brand. I mean if not then why would they put Crisis Core on the PSP? Surely it would've sold more on the DS...
