It's difficult to find an article about it since it's such an old incident. But this article gives incentive proof, maybe not definite proof but it's a strong possibilty.
Go to the third paragraph of the title headed "The Break-Up". It's just a little ways down.

Of course it just says exclusive for the playstation, so it's uncertain if that means exclusive for every playstation product.
