Forums - Sales - I've always known Star Ocean was never a big franchise.

I'm just responding to the people saying before that Star Ocean 4 was gonna be one of Microsoft's marquee franchises for the year. A lot of people saying it was gonna sell well over a million or something on the first week.

And I said back then that those claims are delirious. Star Ocean has never been, and never will be a big franchise. It's not one of Microsoft's bombs. It's just an ordinary launch.

Blasphemy!!! ... but Lulz ...

I guess thats what they get for not making it Multi-platform from the begining, i dont mind it coming out for the 360, but making it 360 exclusive was just stupid IMO, it got me to buy a 360 but thats because im a HARDCORE Tri-Ace Fanboy.

Other people may not see it the way i did, and by sales well.... lulz...

*sigh* its for this reason why JRPG's are not coming to Console and going to Handhelds ala DS and PSP...

Cool story. But I dont recall anyone predicting it to sell over 1 million 1st week. And yes - it is one of the Microsoft's marquee titles for 2009. In Japan.

it would sell much better in japan if they went multiplat.

people were saying in those "what does Microsoft have for 2009" threads that Star Ocean is fixing to be a huge title.

reality bites. it's not even that big in japan. it's not going to sell anywhere near white knight chronicles, despite being a new IP.

Well Well...isn't it annoying when fanboys claims that it was meant to be some kind of a god damn "saviour" just so they can bash a game and how it didn't meet the expectations even tho no body ever said it would do 1 kazillion copies in first week.

Star Ocean tteot was surprisingly fun- it's a shame tri-ace didn't do that good of a job this time around.

Still a flop though.

quality wise and sales.

Star ocean 3 sold more than 1 million copies, this time, it will probably sell less than 500k... So yeah it's a bomb.

When I said that 360's owners didn't want Rpg's, everybody on the site was yellin at me, looks like I was finally right.

The sales have been pretty bad so far.
