Forums - Microsoft - Never Again Microsoft. Your Technical Assistance Is Non Existent IMHO.

I just got a call from them to tell me my credit card will be refunded in the next 30 days.

My last phone call to them I told them I would not trust them to get me a pint of milk.
So after nearly 4 weeks of hassle It is over thank goodness.
Mind you I will still be sending a letter to my credit card company as I would not depend on this going very smoothly either.

Any one on the site know where I could get it repaired in the North east of Ireland.

As I said in the OP I will never get a MS product again, and that includes PC.

MSFT doesn't make PCs, they are an OS vendor reask. Just get a PC and slap Linux on it if u want. Ubuntu is a great distro, Kubuntu w/ KDE interface for Mac likers. Anyway, I sent you a PM for your problem.

I worked for a tech support for RIM and will never ever deal with a support line for any product. You are told to stick to a script and can't deviate or you get fired.

A disk drive should cost you 60 bucks to replace here in canada, labour included.

Disk drive is 40 bucks on ebay, getting it flashed with the proper key to work with your system is 20. Does the town you live in have craigslist? There are lots of ads for people who mod your xbox360 here in toronto...and sadly, those people can fix this for you as replacing the drive is the same labour as modding your xbox. You don't have to get it modded if you dont want to...but the new drve still has to be flashed.

Got that pm halo and thanks for the help.

@ disolitude and halo.
I have been in touch with a guy in Dublin which is not to far away from me so I may check that out. He was talking 45 to 60 Euro which is OK really.

I know shit happens no matter who you are dealing with just a pain in the butt when you are on the receiving end I suppose.

I suppose it might depend on where you live that you get different service. When I talked to them about my Live membership getting messed up, it took about 10 minutes for them to pull my stuff up and get it back on track. Oh well, luck of the draw (which you don't have any of I guess). But yeah, if you're unhappy with your console then don't hesitate to buy a PS3 or something.

Update : I just got email from Xbox.com support and said they have transfer all my licensed to the appropriate console. So may be there is hope ...

My Xbox got the audio and no video problem. It was when I went to my "Download History" and started to redownload McCain and Palin's GOP Convention speeches. Damn it, my 360 is a Dem What a world!!! No worries though--I will fix it in a few days when I am less busy.

It happens. I owned a 360 for ten months. 22 games + a ton a DLC. But the whole experience was so frustrating I had to get rid of it. Too bad about the 360, it's got alot of great games.....

- "If you have the heart of a true winner, you can always get more pissed off than some other asshole."

you probably just got bad luck. For example, I've heard a lot of horror stories about Sony's customer service, but I've never had a problem with them. When my PS3 broke, I call them up and they send me the box and an overnight UPS label to Texas or wherever their place is. 8 days after I called them to send me the box, my new PS3 is delivered....

So, I would say that if you have a fair amount of games for your 360 and you like them, stick it out and get your 360 fixed. You can always get a PS3 later when they cost less and pick up all the great games then for like $15.

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

UPS turned up today to collect my XBOX! After phoning up microsoft yesterday, that's a pretty fast service so far!!

Driver says he has loads of XBOX pickups!
