Naa, FFVII was fun, played other FF's. FFVII was different than always saving a princess or questions about being upper or lower class which all gets boring. FFX was good, I liked the boss battles on it... And the weapons :)

I've been saying FFVII was overrated for nearly a dozen years now. I have never been as disappointed and underwhelmed by a game as I was FFVII. Between the shoddy story, poor characters, bad graphics, awful gameplay and worse than cartridge audio quality the game has little value. The only thing I liked about FFVII is that it proved JRPGs could sell in the West with a massive ad campaign.

I guess we are going to ignore the fact that the article said that Active Battle System (the way that the battle continues when you are making decisions and characters are making actions) is new to FFVII

It is pretty overrated to me.

FF VII is a good game without a doubt, but there are many better JRPG games, its just that FF VII have gotten this fanatical following from quite a large group of people that force everyone to believe that this is the greatest gaming creation ever.

I love this 'overrated' series, such a great way to bring out the faults that history sometimes missed.

Yes. Final Fantasy Vll was a incredible rpg but its not the best rpg. Everyone know that title belongs to Xenogears. Xenogears to me is underated. Even to this day Xenogears brings the best storyline and the most complex characters ever known to rpg.
