This is why Sonic will suck forever. There is no incentive to make a good sonic game. No matter how crappy sonic games are there is a strangely large userbase that just doesn't give a rats ass and will buy it anyway because it's a sonic game.

To add to my point. Sonic the hedgehog the not even finished mess of glitches terrible story and gameplay that was universally panned as being a god awful mistake has sold well over a million units. Every Sonic game this gen has sold over a million units. But they suck. They just do. A good sonic game hasn't come out since the dreamcast days, but they sell millions regardless.

Why bother putting an "A" team on a sonic game when you can put a "C" team of 15 college drop outs on it for a fraction of the price and still sell two million copies? Soon Sega will start to outsource sonic to Pheonix games and this will be the standard quality of sonic games.



Honestly, I don't think it's too far off as it is.

How is this different from any other series or genre haha. 

It brings me back to something EA said.  People beg for new properties and innovative products yet they still buy the same old things they have been playing fo ryears.  It's the truth.  People buy what they are familiar with no matter how good it is.  Not just the mainstream but the core as well. 

It's not exclusive to Sonic.  It's the hypocritical nature of gamers in the market.  They demand revolutionary, amazing new products but buy the usual subpar well established products or genres instead.  Hell even the reviewers are on their side as usually they have a hard time reviewing anything that isn't more of the same well. 

Wow... thats really low. I was expecting something in range of 6 or 7.

I'm not, and i never was. A sonic game with swords? WTF. why should i give this game a chance when its not a traditional sonic game? I lost interest in sonic a long time ago. Sega should focus on a real sonic revival. I'm sure sonic fans will enjoy this game, they enjoy anything with sonic attached to it.

On Topic, i doubt the game is as bad to get a 3.9. But its an average game, like all sonic games are. IGN never was and never will be a credible site ever.

I'm sure this game is next in line for a Zero Punctuation review

I don't think IGN is the review to end all reviews.

I think it would be best to wait for Eurogamer, GameTrailers, EDGE, and a few others before going insane.

Why can't they bring Sonic back like this?

Wow, it seems that just cause it's not the same old Sonic, they hate it. That is very sad :'(
