Starcraft can't pinpoint people and expectations because they didn't exist.

Simple as that. Until he can do that, no one should quote or reply to them, because, as always, he lives in a world of speculation and 'hype'. lol.

There you go.

Many up over a million.

Some at two million.

Very few guessed less than the sales.

I tallied all the predictions to prove that you don't know have an argument there

Less than 500K: 16 people
Between 500K and 1M: 45 people
Between 1M and 2M: 9 people
More than 2M: 2 people

You still mantain what you said?

OF course.  A great many of those in the rather broad 500k to 1M range were 750k and above.

And once again you're wrong

500K-750K: 33 people
750K-1M: 9 people

I know they don't add, some weren't very specific like saying "between 500K and 1M" and I may have missed some, but the difference is too big either way.

It looks like the vast majority gave quite neutral and sensible predictions, while jinxes were a minority, but over 40% larger than fanboys.

How many times must people prove you wrong before enough is enough?

Thats just it, I am not wrong.

I have said that I feel Killzone 2 did well, many times.

Do you disagree with this?

But clearly, as the most hyped Playstation 3 game in history, having received four years of overpraise, over-anticipation and over the top predictions (to the point that many people still predicted hundreds of thousands if not millions of units over the eventuality just DAYS before the game's release) Killzone 2 has underwhelmed.

And yet you have given 0 proof to your allegations!

What are you talking about?

In the most RECENT thread (the one LEAST likely to prove my point) out of the literal HUNDREDS on the subject since E3 2005, there were two dozen people estimating above the end result.

Most of these people are people with a history of overhyping PS3 exclusives.

And this when the game still beat reasonable non-Sony fan expectations.

Obviously I am not going to spend hours trawling through threads we each know prove my point further.  Nor am I claiming that this is an exclusively Sony theme.  Whenever we draw close to a big games release date reality hits a bit and people's stated expectations come down.

But talk of massive system selling and millions of units have proven fruitless.  This is Sony's absolute last big exclusive in the West this year assuming God of War doesn't make it out.  And it only managed to outsell the Xbox 360 by 200 units.

If you honestly cannot see that Killzone 2 failed (in Others at least) to do what Sony and it's supporters have been claiming for years it would do then there is little point in continuing this debate.

Lets focus on the thing we agree on.  Killzone 2 is a good/very good shooter that sold well in its own right and should eventually make a modest profit for Sony if legs prove strong.

didnt leoj get banned for making stuff up that didnt hurt anyone but starcraft is blatantly spewing slanderous lies to try to discredit the whole ps3 fanbase.

Actually his numbers add to 20, with a few unaccounted for.

Forgive me the rounding.

As for blatently spewing slanderous lies?  I have said the game was overhyped and havent named a name?

Lighten up mate.

Edit: I see you've already changed your numbers Max (or should I call you pooperscooper?).  In your haste to troll and attack me, you seem to be forgetting your addition

^ i just looked at the 1-2 million bracket still 11 is far from 24 bluelady

Which makes it 20 people overestimating (assuming it does 750K in total first week, which seems likely) and 49 underestimating,

So, in the end, looks like KZ2 is performing better than what was expected here in this site
