Forums - Nintendo - Am I the only one who thinks Red Steel 2 will have a Motion Plus Bundle?

@axumblade - it also comes with EA's Grand Slam Tennis now too.

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Would be cool if Red Steel 2 came bundled with that in a box set or special edition package. Why aren't any Wii games even first party offered in some kind of special or collectors edition package? Bet it would be incredible for sales.

Well, hmm, well... yeah, I never actually thought about the possibility, but stof makes some good points. I think it could very well happen!
Of course they'd need to actually finish development and release the game first. :p

*Edit: anyone know anything about how much those games bundled with WM+ will end up costing? Will they be more expensive than games without it, or will WM+ be included for free? I hope Nintendo'll be so generous as to give us a free WM+ with WS Resort, at least.

It's still being geared towards the fans of Wii Sports specifically. Also, there is going to be a swordplay game implemented into Wii Sports Resort so that's one reason why I have my doubts. Granted, I personally think Wii Sports Resort will be awesome, but I think they are still attempting gearing the bundle toward a more casual base. The hardcore base will get it regardless because of how cool it will be to play Red Steel 2 or Legend of Zelda: *insert title here*

This would be the biggest point that I disagree with, the notion that because the Motion Plus is coming with Sports Resort, the peripheral is geared towards just one segment of the Userbases demographic. The peripheral doesn't offer a new experience like the original Wiimote or Balance board; it enhances and refines a current experience. It is essentially a fix to the inaccuracies of the original product. Inaccuracies that are far more important to "hardcore" gamers than casual ones. Red Steel was the perfect example. Originally we pictured a controller that could replicate sword fighting. We didn't get that.

Nintendo isn't using this peripheral to move software units, their using Sports Resort as a trojan horse to get as many pluses on Wiimotes as possible. And the very fact that Sports Resort has a more casual appeal is why they're likely to bundle it with a hardcore title. While many gamers would indeed pick it up seperately for certain games, a lot more gamers wouldn't. And even more companies aren't going to utilize it if they're not confident it's in enough houses. Bundling the unit with RedSteel not only sells more units of the game and the Peripheral, but it also serves as a major demonstration of how well the add on can work to hardcore gamers and game designers.

We've already got a Grand Slam Tennis bundle to bring in the sports crowd, and now it's time to bring in the shoot and slash crowd. Red Steel 2 is the game to do that. I really doubt Nintendo would pass up such an opportunity.

Motion Plus should be bundled with a special edition package for the sole purpose of marketing FPS games for the Wii.  If motion plus id bundles the game will sell as well as the best of Nintys first party games.

I hope so... but I don't think it's likely...

Why not L.C.E.C.?

Unfortunately this is two very different situations. EA Sports are a huge draw, and a huge cash cow. It is only natural that Nintendo would want to placate them andboost sales of their games and possibly future iterations of said games. Given that EA has stated in the past that Wii Sports is likely a deternt for customers buying other sports games it is only natural for Nintendo to try and give them a leg up.

This is mostly speculative I admit, but there is some basis for it. From the time WM+ was announced it was tied to Wii Sports Resort. All of a sudden though Wii Sports Resort is pushed back a month from WM+, and EA sports titles suddenly are hitting there and are packaged with the accessory. It is possible that it is just a coincidence, but it seems to me that this is Nintendo's way of helping EA break into the sports market on the Wii.

Because the last time Ubi bundled something (wheel) with their software, it was for casuals. (also, It didn't catch on 'till nintendo maade an official one). RS is not really a casual game... so it doesn't seem likely... EAGames seems casual though...
