Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 red ring of death problems (finally) solved?

Is your Xbox 360 red in the face? No, not that kind of red, but facing that painstakingly loathsome red ring of death? Well, if group product manager Aaron Greenberg knows anything about the situation -- and we'd imagine he does -- then it looks like the guys at Microsoft have finally found a solution to many gamers' worst nightmares. In an interview with Edge Online, Greenberg said that through repairs they've done as well as updated technology, the guys in Redmond are pretty confident that afflicted consoles should be nonexistent in the not so distant future and that they've "put the worst behind us on this." So, breathe easy obsessive gamers, you needn't worry about getting an infected console any more -- we hope.

Well if it's true then I won't have to worry about the RROD when I buy a 360 for now on (I hope >_>)

yay thats awesome i cant wait

Every hardware revision gets smaller chips, thus less heat = no RROD

i'll buy my 6th xbox 360 this fall..i don't mind.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

This RROD problem has been solved every 6 months or so.

Knock on wood...no RROD for me in 2 consoles and 4 years...I cheated a bit ,since I sold my launch console, BUT I've had my launch elite now for a while.

Well, if you shit money..lol. Your loss.

I sure fukking hope they are right, because last time they said that, it failed in my face again. 2 xbox's broken, if there is NO more reports of rrod's ill buy another X.  My elite from october in 2007, scratched my disks and overheated. It said it had a bigger block, but it didnt help at all.  Even now in february there has been a shitload of RROD's because of the silly audio patch, including the newest jasper chipset. Its ridicolous. 3 years now since release? Why the fukk havent they fixed it yet. I dont understand, its so damn annoying!

2 reasons for 360 sales.

Cheap arcade version, wich the mom buys for the kids.

And microsoft's wallet.

Smaller chip may eventually solve the problem (unless they do as Intel with its first 65nm CPU, the Pentium D, that was a boiling stove as the previous ones).
But wait, where I heard this same old story from MS? Oh, yes: "Windows security/stability problems finally solved"! ""IE security problems finally solved"! "You'll need a crowbar to open the next Windows version"!
Same old joke, but it's still funny!!!
