"We had to ban Bioshock from our offices," Valve boss Gabe Newell told us. "Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done - that's our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of Bioshock." http://kotaku.com/gaming/fps-shocker%21/valve-bans-bioshock-294409.php Plasmids FTW

I think Valve doesn't want their employees to see a commercially-released game with so many bugs; might make them think this kind of thing is acceptable in games.

lol, PC version didn't have any bugs that I have noticed =P

Anyways I think it has a lot more to do with wanting fresh ideas rather than spinoffs as well as wanting people focused on the task at hand.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Are you kidding? There are bugs in the physics engine, like when you step on something small sometimes it goes flying across the room in a random direction, and there are a bunch of little corners that you can get stuck in and it takes a while of jumping and moving to get out. Plus, bodies often disappear (I noticed it more later on in the game) right after you kill them so you can't loot the items, as well as grenade/locked boxes and ammo on occasion.

They are not game breaking and the game is still awesome, but there is no denying that these glitches exist.
