So I was reading a thread yesterday about 1000/1000 gamerpoints yesterday and people started talking about the downloadable content extra points (1250/1250).  I was in Best Buy today and browsed the games section as I usually do and started thinking about that thread.

With trophies, you get a platinum trophy for collection all other trophies for that game.  What do they do about downloadable content trophies?  Are there any games with downloadable content trophies?

Would it be possible to get two platinum trophies?

Would they just not give a platinum trophy for the DLC trophies?

Would it from then on be lumped with the other trophies so you got the DLC is would suddenly become harder to get the platinum trophy?

Well, with Burnout, you only need to achieve the trophies that came with the main game, all extra trophies add to the percentage but aren't required for a Platinum.

So, basically, you could get a Platinum whilst only unlocking 60-70% of the Trophies

Ah cool, didn't realize the DLC for Burnout had trophies so that answers my question perfectly!

There are games that have DLC that add trophies, LBP is as example

I think it works like this:

You only need to get the the trophies that originally came with the game in order to get the platinum trophy. However if you get some DLC with added trophies, you will no longer have 100% of the trophies but you will still have the platinum.

If you have the platinum trophy in LBP and don't have the DLC, and then you compare your trophies to someone who has the DLC, it will say that you have the Platinum but you only have 80% of the trophies.

This is also shown for LBP btw.

Didn't realize LBP had DLC trophies too, haven't played that game since December. >_>
