Forums - Sony - GT5 Prologue Not Free: Available on Blu-ray and PSN

^ Ummm...

Read the first line

"Yes it is, here's the press release.

Find the line that says charge.

You said so that it is free.

Well, we're saying the opposite thing. I think the press release saying it is being released on a Blu-ray disc means it will not be free.

Come on, a little crow never hurt nobody.

Maybe free download over the store, but with free extras in the box at retail for $20??

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

The "Yes it is" was a reply to "Reading is fundamental", when in my original post I said "actual press release".

I'm not saying the opposite to you, I'm stating that the conclusion you have come to from the press release is unfounded merely at the presence of the phrase "Blue-ray disk"

The release does not state either way if GT Prologue is chargeable.

Personally, I think it's just too much of a game to be offered for free on PSN or Blu-ray:

Key Features:

* The first ever Gran Turismo title with online racing: drive online against up to 16 other Gran Turismo aces
* Race a total of over 40 stunning, high-performance cars
* Race on seriously realistic, real life tracks including the Eiger Nordwand, the London City Track and Suzuka – then race them in reverse and with alternative routes
* All-new physics engine means true next-generation vehicle handling
* All-new and improved opponent AI for a nail-biting race experience
* Access to Gran Turismo TV : a world of great motoring TV programming online
* Online Dealership: Access to car manufacturers online
* My Garage - a personalised homepage feature with friends, chat and personal game records
* Quick Tune facility allows you to adjust power, tyres, suspension and more
* All in stunning High Definition at 1080p (race: 1080p-60fps, replay: 1080p-30fps)

This isn't a demo. This is better than Motorstorm, for pete's sake.

TBH, I agree with you.

That 16 player netplay will keep me going for months!

But theres nothing in the press release that confirms free or not way =P

I am not saying it will be free, I've never stated that.

I _AM_ saying that this press release does not confirm that it will be charged for, and that free disks have been given in the past.

It won't be free. There is just no chance, not even a .00000001% chance that it will be free.

If this game was going to be released free, it almost certainly would have been mentioned in the press release

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"
