Well it didn't take long for people to find out a quick way to get Easy Rank in KZ2.

Last Night the devs closed down the online (Bot) part of the game, and for good reason..

You could make a room and have only Bots play at there lowest setting / skill.

Kill them all like sitting ducks and rake in the Points to get higher Rank...

So when you play a real match with live people, you have all the weapons or most of them already unlocked..

From following peoples stats yesterday up until I went to bed It's funny, after the patch their points seemed to almost stop, as earlier they were going up faster then you could refresh the page... 

I noticed even some Clan members seem to have used this easy rank system..

Kind of weak if you ask me..

Hey Killzone players!

We launched a hotfix patch today and you guys might be wondering why we took out bots! Let me explain in FAQ form!

Online bots were cool, why take them out?
They were cool indeed! However, players started using them to ’pad’ their stats and ranked up insanely quick. To prevent the entire community of doing so, we have temporarily removed them from Online. You can still play them in Skirmish mode!

Are you going to bring them back?
Yes we definitely are! This patch was a hotfix, meaning it was a quick and dirty temporary fix! We are hard at work for a proper fix and you will see Online bots return very soon!

Why didn’t you prevent this from happening, you bunch of dutch idiots?
We did not test bots in the Public Beta and honestly, it bit us in the ass! My personal apologies!

What about people who already padded their stats?
We are investigating if we can rectify those accounts but I cannot say much about that yet. Keep checking this forum for updates!

If I had the game already, I would have done the same thing probably ^^

So no more bots? Or no more bots online?

No bots online, I take it until a patch comes to stop giving points for bot kills..

They should allow points for bot kills but only for the highest skill setting. That would allow bots for online matches and eliminate the exploit.

Killzone 2; Guerrilla thwart rank-up abusers

Guerrilla have already spotted that a number of players have been setting up games where real players take on an army of low-end bots in order to increase their experience points artificially.

In response to this tactic, they released the following statement:

“We’re disabling the ability to add bots to online games as a temporary measure against rank-up abuse. A permanent solution is forthcoming.”

We welcome anything that stops people from being able to artificially unlock as many abilities as possible in a short space of time. Remember people, winnings are much better when you’ve earnt them…

yeah that's freaking BS. I was in the top 300 yesterday (I doubt I am today) without playing bots. getting everything unlocked is so freaking easy as it is. If you really want stuff you can set up games for the sole purpose of achieving the goals. Pistol only gets you several of them alone.

They should wipe peoples' scores. It's going to take forever to catch some of them. I played with T-e-X (#2 I think right now) in the beta so he's legit. I finished ahead of him in the beta, though, heh.

just get 8 body count ribbons, and you get 3 points per kill in body count. then just do body count. I have gotten 100 in a match before. I only just unlocked tactician though.

Yeah pretty poor carry on rankin up like that if you ask me.

kudos to them for acting so quickly.....regardless of all the variables the servers being amazing and the lag being non existant and the devs being at teh forefront of communicating with the fans quickly and respectfully is so top notch.

Now, just change the search and retrieve ribbon from 2 captures to 1 or ill never get it you numbnuts.
