I still can't see Wii's anywhere.

Nintendo still doomed?

This article wins... something.
If it is intended to be serious it wins the award for stupidest idiot minus BruceOnGames.
If it is a joke, then it is damn subtle and has to win something for hilarity.
-------------------------
1. Demand > production = no spare stock. So if production is increased to try meet demand then slowly spare stock will rise until production = demand... at which point there will always be some stock on shelves, and it should go down slowly until it is re-stocked.
2. This is anecdotal... Even a couple of weeks before Christmas somebody somewhere could have found a picture of some Wiis on shelves, when it isnot Christmas it is easy to find.
3. A saturated market is one where it is difficult to keep selling the same product because no one wants it at that price any more... there is a big difference between meeting demand and saturation. Saturation is demand dropping (significantly). Meeting demand is self explanatory.

I remember seeing only one wii at my local wlamart, and i was at the electronic section for like 20 minutes and it was still there lol.

Been saying this for 3 to 4 weeks now. All shops have been stocked to the brim. That is why I was asking if Nintendo was ramping up shipments something fierce.
Anecdotal evidence or not, this seems to be more common than some want to believe. There is nothing wrong with that, did everyone actually believe the Wii would continue to sell every console made the second it was taken off the truck? Especially with the lack of 1st party games lately?
The standards are set so high for the Wii that once people see one at a store they begin saying the sky is falling... If we were to apply half as strict standards to the other consoles, they'd be buried long ago, and Microsoft and Sony would no longer exist.

It's good that people can actually go in and buy one whenever they want. That's how it's supposed to be!

Exactly. You should have known the sell through would end eventually.
I like how the article implies that "There are only so many old people, little kids, and normal people" as if these are small, marginalized groups outside the billions and billions of gamers in the world, especially the normal people part...
Either way, the article, once again, ignores the fact that Wii has had no price-drops. As soon as demand stagnates across the board (as in not just in Japan), Nintendo is poised to drop the price by $50-$100 and watch it all explode again. Bundles, colors, upgraded models (these the least likely), but all things are still possible. It's the launch SKU of Wii that we're talking about here, over two years into the console's life and still far and away outselling competitors who have been through a dozen SKUs between them

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Now I understand. The 360 and PS3 are selling so poorly because there's too many available. Clearly if we take all of their consoles off the shelves then sales would skyrocket.
Seriously, sometimes I wish we could ban websites for trolling. ;>
