If you believe that a material such as "Watchmen" shouldn't be a *mere* brawler, what should it be, and why?

How about an action-adventure title?

Please flesh out your idea. Do you mean something like Tomb Raider or Uncharted?

Have it as a pseudo- point and click adventure. You are Rorschach (sp?) and you have to investigate everything like in the graphic novel. The style would be comic oriented, with amazing graphics and visuals, with really humorous text. That's the only way you can stay true to the novel part of Watchmen, and not so much as the super hero part, because honestly there was barely any action in the novel to justify a brawler.

I think that point-and-click adventure genre fits well. IMO it can do well on the PC platform. Not quite sure that that'll work on consoles... but since it is downloadable (on consoles) and relatively cheap, it might work.

It should be like Indigo Prophecy. But brawlers appeal to a larger audience, I guess. Personally, I wish it would just remain a graphic novel. The thought of the movie/game are turning me off. Hope I'm wrong, though.

Hell yeah. I loved Indigo Prophecy. Very "set piece" oriented that leads to great storytelling (but little on freedom, but then, since it's based on the novel, it ain't that bad).

Also, I really DO hope you're wrong and that the movie turns out well (crosses finger).

It's not that I look down on brawlers (in fact, Streets of Rage 2 is one of my all-time favorites). It's just that I don't think it's the proper genre for a Watchmen game.

Heheh, now it's your turn to miss my sarcasm (I agree completely). If I squint my eyes and cock my head so, I can see how you can make this into a brawler. But it sure won't be a natural fight with the comic.
