Forums - Sales - Why Japan have problems with legs?

Yes, but a game that don't sell 1 million in first week hardly sell this with the legs. In West is much more common games reach a million thanks to their legs.

^hmm I'll say it might have something to do with the install base, it's much more bigger in the west, also everyone in the west might be just lazy to buy games so they just get a game later on compared to the people in Japan lol

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G has pretty good legs in Japan, mostly cause it's a handlheld game.

I think if it's a console game, it just won't have legs in Japan probably because of the install base. Japan seems to like the handhelds better, but they don't make to many great AAA games for handhelds, so that's why we don't see to many games get over 500K a week there, let alone continue to have good legs.

no it's not because it is handheld, handheld games dont' have good legs in general either.  MHP2G had good legs because it is a franchise on the rise that is spreading in popularity by the word of mouth, a friend will buy it and convince their friend to buy it.  The next handheld MHP game will not have nearly as good legs at all.

Games that have good legs in Japan are either casual, franchises quickly growing in popularity, or games that have really low shipments.
