Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy 12 is awesome.

It was some thing new and i loved it..the English narrative was amazing
this game was like the Japanese version of lord of the rings
i was addicted to the hunting and meeting hunter and it made feel that am palying on line with real people. Its only draw back was the hero didnt have much role.
But overall a true fantasy that i love.
FFXIII and Versus here we go....

Balthier was awesome.

Never played the official game, I did play a demo of the game that came with Dragon Quest 8, and I really couldn't get into the battle system in the demo, felt boring to me. Maybe it gets better later on but I did not like it at all.

I played it for about 200 hours. Nuff said.

I really waited long for this game but I have to admit that I didn't finish it.
This was partly due to the launch of the Ps3 in Europe but also
because of an initially very promising story which turned out to be rather boring.
However I still think it is a great game and I'm sure to finish it someday.

i have played and finished every final fantasy(have never finish 9 :( ) up to X-2 (that one was really bad) and i heard 12 was bad, so i didn't make any effort to get 12, but now that am collecting ps2 rpg's am playing it and i have to say is very good, the world doesn't really feel as open as they intended to, specially for someone who has played WOW, but is ok, i like the gambit system, the character design and i think is great.

Fran is my favorite char until now, but am just beginning, am at lvl 22.

Do you see it having any particular lasting effect in terms of narrative and style? Or is the effect more in terms of design philosophy, where the designer is willing to take more risks, like with FFXIII's combo system?

i hope it does, the story is not as fantastic as X was but, the narrative is better, the royal titles the details are all amazing, it is technically perfect too, in fact to me it looks better than GoW 2

i like this thread. well i love FF12 mainly because it was completly different to the others FFs and it was something fresh. for me it have the best story of all FFs it is the most mature and realistic story but it have that fantasy in it too and it wasnt like a love chessy story of you love me i love you lets save the world¡¡¡. other thing i like a lot of the game is that there isnt like a main character, all characters are important to the story. well the gameplay is something new and i like it a lot the only thing i didnt like it was they way you use the summons, i mean i barely used them in the whole game. but the gameplay is amazing too. the artdesign is incredible too i like it a lot. and the crazy CGI, for me it was the best CGI of all the FFs. i would give this game a 9.4

It would be awesome if it actually had a decent story. Right now, there's not much of a story although the basic plot isn't too bad.

Played it to completion. It took me a total of 120 hours. I hated the boring combat system. Here's to hoping they don't use it again. The grinding was ridiculous.

The story was ok, the dialogues were very good.

What Square Enix tried to do was design a MMO game for the single player, which is a failed concept in its inception.

FF XIII come and sooth my aching soul with your dynamic turn based combat system.
