It's a tough decision, but after playing through Galaxy again recently, I'm going to have to say Mario.

If I had to pick....
I don't think I can. Bah.
Now that I think of it, had I recently played through Ocarina of Time or Super Metroid I'd probably choose Zelda or Metroid as my favourite. It's like choosing a favourite colour, you either make an arbitrary choice or you can't decide.
