Forums - Gaming - would putting Mass Effect 2 on PS3 help Bioware make more profit?

I think PS3 owners would only be interested in it, If EA released Mass Effect 1 on PS3 as well. Generate a Little buzzz and your set

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I know I would definately buy it without the first one being released on ps3, what's more is I wouldn't even go back and buy 1 if they did release one on ps3 just cuz it's outdated software (once 2 is released anyway).  I didn't need to go back and play fallout 1 & 2 to play 3 and enjoy it ( although that's more of an extreme)

As long as the cost to port it isnt to great. Although with the 1st one being exclusive I cant imagine many PS3 owners getting this.

Well I heard microsoft sold the rights to it...don't know if it's true, but it means that it can go multplatform if it's true, and nowadays if a game can go multiplat...it will go multiplat.

Microsoft published the original game - Bioware developed it. When Bioware was gobbled up by EA, MS still had publishing rights (like a book publisher has for a while). I am not sure if there's a long-term contract or not, but to publish the PC version of Mass Effect and future installments, MS and EA struck a deal. Whether or not MS has other legal matters in place - and it pains EA to say the game is just on one console, remains to be seen. However, once the publishing rights expire, expect EA to publish a trilogy on the PS3. However, it could be next year or even later. Just think - how long did it take for GTA III to appear on the Xbox? There you go ...
