Metroid would work best as an animated feature. It doesn't work very well for the protagonist of a live-action film to wear a helmet the whole time.
That's if there absolutely has to be a Metroid movie. Samus belongs right where she is: In videogames.

Pretty good choices so far, I´m with Ben that Jolie or Thurman do not fit.
My nomination: Paris Hilton... would make a great comedy, Samus, a total space dingbat with plasma gun in the right hand and a tiny dog in the left.
If I serioulsly could chose I´d take german actress Alexandra Maria Lara:
She´s hot, the right age and a great actess.
A complete noname that isn't riding on previous successes, or completely CG
Both would guarantee that the focus is on "Metroid" and not on the actresses face/tits/ass
Rachel Luttrell gets my vote. If they want to keep with the current Metroid look, they will need someone less exotic looking.
Am I the only one here thinking this would be a pretty bad film? It would end up like an MTV version of Alien, probably worse in fact.
