Forums - General - What is your favorite beer?

Sienster - Not if it is touched upon as a theoretical belief in a religious education class, but it shouldn't have any real time spent on it and should never be taught in a biology class as an alternative to real science.

This is the sort of thing I end up going on about when I go for a beer, guess it happens when I talk about beer too.

Hey, thats that beer my friend from Poland brought me, tastes great... I have no clue how to pronounce it tough... zy = j ... or something like that ???

Pretty close. English j = Polish dż not ż... It sounds similary to first part of Zhivago surname (from Doctor Zhivago/Żywago in Poland) so if I have to write it in English I would go with Zhiviec. It's not exactly like this but close enough to be understood.

Edit:

So I wasn´t that far of,  I was just out drinking with friends and was totally stunned as I saw this in a store around here, I picked up some bottles right away, tastes as good as I remembred. Great YouTube link :) , me and my buddies used to buy beer from all over the world and give it ratings on our internet site... too bad it isn´t up any more, we would do am american evening or a asian evening and play videogames while testing the beer, it was great fun.

It will however kill your wallet. Everytime i went drinking i'd look at my wallet and think... "Dang for what i paid to get some drinks I could of used to buy a video game that would of been fun for longer." (Even moderate wise you can get a video game for 20+ used.)

Which is why when I go to bars i usually go with my friends I just get a soda and hang out now. Even two drinks will usually run you 8-12 dollars. Its almost as bad as cigarettes. Stuff like that just costs way too much.

You don't have to pay 4 bucks for a draught, pick up a Sam Adams Variety 12-pack at the store and drink it at home.  That way, you don't need a DD.  :)

Pilsner is from the town of Pilsen, in Bohemia, part of the Czech Republic.  The cheap stuff you buy in the states is called American Pilsener, and it's crap.  You need good pale malts and noble hops to make a good pilsner, not rice and corn.  Careful drinking imported pilsners, though, since they almost always come in green bottles, and are often handled improperly and allowed to receive sunlight.  UV rays can go through green glass, and they'll skunk the beer.

I have too much fun stuff at home to do that.  The only times i used to drink was when I was out with my friends and bored or special occasions.  I reserve it for the latter now.

As for the vodka posts.  Grey Goose is my choice of Vodka.

Ah I just remembered "The end of the World" or some such.  The only place i've seen that is a Casino in Vegas.  That was good from what i remember,  as far as beer went.  I mean i've tried a lot of beer, i just haven't liked much of it... and I have to be in the right circumstances and situation to enjoy being drunk.  Though when drinking does happen in the confines of a house I also find it more fun to not drink or not much anyway, then clean up in the inevitable poker game.  It's fun AND profitbale.

As for the Duff comment.  It's a shame that they didn't make Duff beer in the 7-11 promotion for the simpsons movie.  Were afraid of underage drinking I guess.  Of course it was also a shame they didn't have any within a 3 hour drive.  I'd of liked to have had some buzz cola sitting in the back of my fridge.

@leo-j: funny how humans have been drinking alcohol ever since the dawn of man but suddenly its not ok anymore, sure if you drink to much or are addicted it will harm you, drinking one glass of wine or one bottle of beer a day on the other hand is healthy, what about that ???

Hmm you are an European?

I guess it is not an problem in Eu, I am drinking beer from my 8.

I drink especially Stella (beer) and a lot of girl drinks/vodka's Smirnof, Eristof, RUSSIAN VODKA OH YEAH.

I'm from Belgium too and I have been drinking too since i was 6 or 7. Not in large amounts tough.
I don't quite understand why drinking alcohol would be a bad thing, it's even healthy in modest amounts.

But we are used to Americans overreacting about the small things in life.

I like Stella as Primus and Maes.
As for the degustation beers i like Judas, Brugsen Trippel, Kasteelbier, Chimay, Duvel and a few others. But i guess that european beers rarely get across the ocean. Also because our beers are quite bitter.
