I had no problems with All-Play. I just think that maybe some people were turned off by the box arts.

It should continue, but it should be done right. For example:

The cover is great. You've got a good design, some decent colors, and a smiling Tiger Woods. He looks like he's practically ready to hug anyone considering buying the game.

This is how it's done wrong:

First off, I have no idea who this guy is. If you're going to try to sell a game to as large an audience as possible, you should probably pick one of the sport's most popular players instead of, well...I just don't know who this fellow is. Second off, the design is terrible. The colors are boring and don't go together. The whole thing is just an eyesore.

Even though these may seem like just subtle nuances, the reflection in the sales would prove that they are very important. Tiger Woods 09 zoomed past the versions for the previous year and is now approaching 1 million. NBA Live 09 is actually doing worse than last year's version and is pretty much dead in the water.

It's not doing incredibly well. It's hard to say what they'll decide as the best strategy with the All Play line

The one on NBA cover is Tony Parker who is from France and married to Eva Longoria (one of the Desperate Housewives). Maybe EA thought everyone would have known Mr. Longoria by now or they really want to increase French market.

 



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

yeah I think so, at least for the Wii generation. What they need to do is keep the all-play tactics but lose the name and the stupid looking box art.
