DragonBall Z (sayan and Frieza saga) is my best anime of all time!

i've never watched Naruto, but a friend says it's the best ever, but it doesn't sound as good the way he describes it, is it as good!?

monster design, i think Digimon wins, although they are pretty close, the sure think is that Pokemon and Digimon share nothing in similar except the mon and the monsters concept

Ahhh, Digimon.

I loved it when I watched it in Dutch as a child. Those were only seasons 1 and 2(3, 4 and 5 never aired in the Netherlands. Damn you, Fox Kids/Jetix!).
Later, I decided to watch those two seasons again, this time in English, and I still loved it. Digimon got me into anime!

After season 1 and 2, I decided to go watch Tamers (3), Frontier (4) and Savers (5) as well.

Digimon Tamers is probably not only the best Digimon season, it's also the best kids anime, if not the best animated series for children, if not the best kids show. The show is written by Chiaki J. Konaka, who also did Serial Experiments Lain, a really good unconvential anime, which resulted in Digimon Tamers strongly resembling Neon Genesis Evangelion, which is, for all you anime noobs, one of the best, if not the best anime ever made. Digimon Tamers is quite dark at times and casually toys with philosophical and psychological elements, which makes it a great watch for almost everyone.

Digimon Frontier was also really good IMO, even though most people hate this season because there weren't any partner Digimon. I didn't care. On the contrary, I think Digimon Frontier had a lot of great character development because of that fact. Ah well... maybe it was because Frontier was the first series I saw in Japanese instead of in stupid dubbed English...

Savers was by far the worst Digimon series. A lousy attempt at ressurecting the series. The only cool thing was the main character falcon punching enemy Digimon.



Those who say Digimon is a Pokémon rip-off are uninformed. The only argument you could make is them both ending with -mon, but that argument falls apart if you know that Digimon is just Digimon in Japan, while Pokémon is Pocket Monsters.
The stories are different, Digimon is epic and continuous, while Pokémon is episodic. Pokémon has waaaay more filler episodes.
Also, Digimon can evolve way farther, resulting in Digimon resembling Mecha anime near the end. Which fan doesn't remember the fights WarGreymon/MetalGarurumon vs. VenomMyotismon? Omnimon vs. Diaboromon? Imperialdramon Paladinmode vs. Armageddemon? Dukemon, MegaGargomon, Sakuyamon vs. the D-Reaper?



About Pokémon I can be brief: MAYBE I'll following the newest episodes in Japanese this summer break.

EDIT: Does anyone know where to get full fansubs for Digimon seasons 1, 2 and 3? Do they even exist?

I remember shinzo, it aired very shortly here in chile but I have good memory so I remember it. At that time fox kids used to have good shows, I remember shaman king, medabots, digimon, monster rancher, beyblade etc(this one is bad but I liked it at the time)... Oh, also flint the time detective or something like that

I remember watching an anime which didnt last long, I think I just watched 2 episodes it had monsters and cards like magic the gathering but I cant remember more.

the kiddies in digimon's season 1 2 adventures were better than the dumb ash kiddies in pokemons imho :)

I remember all of those and I love them all, Fox Kids was AWESOME.

Digimon Frontier was great for me, no as good as the rest but still good

Digimon Tamers was awesome! haven't seen Digimon Savers, maybe i'll do some day, too bad jetix is no longer showing digimon

English was the worst dub/voice acting, it had no atmosphere, almost no feeling, no epic music and so on, the "hey digimon boys and girls" made it sound so stupid : P
and they were saying jokes and "shut up" kind of stuff when they were going to die in english version

i've seen it again in Japanese with english sub : )

btw, what do you mean by "full fansubs"

Pastro243,thats Yugioh.I used to think the main character was the smartest anime guy when it comes to strategy until I met Lelouch vi Britannia(from code gaess).Darkghostboy,we do have similar tastes cuz we've been in the same thread more times than I can count.You'd be doing urself a disfavour if u don't watch Naruto.Its really good.Just keep in mind that its overated(but really good),has many filler episodes,and is constantly milked(they intentionally repeat scenes from d previous episode and stretch episodes out as long as possible).
Its still my 4th best anime & DBZ is still my best.

imo both animes sucks. That being said pokemon games rocks, i cant say the same about the on edigimon game i've played though.
